greeting cards from photos

I have taken a lot of pictures this year of the beautiful tulips and other flowers here in Washington so when I needed Mother's Day cards I decided to make my own from my photos. The blank pressed paper cards w/envelopes I bought at our Dollar Tree and after printing the pics I just made slits so the card would hold the photos, similar to photo corners used for scrap booking.

shapes...

This tree is a different shape but it works and the earrings are made from the same beads. I made the earrings on the metal peg board I bought that has pegs secured (you can make various patterns w/the pegs), then you wrap the wire around the pegs to make all sorts of shapes. I am partial to the copper wire.

in posting these I tried to keep the size correct in relation to each pendant
and the colors came out true in each photo

handmade jewelry

I can't take credit for coming up with this design. Me and my daughter saw it on the internet & she made me one, so I took hers & studied it to learn how to make them. They can be made in different sizes, shapes and wire colors & any bead color, shape or texture...the possibilities are endless. I'm trying to come up with adequate instructions to make them. I was asked to teach a class here in town so if I can come up with a simple system I might.

Olympic Flame 2010

We had a chance to go to Vancouver during the Paralympic Games and take pictures of the Olympic Flame while it was lit, it was awesome. You could feel the heat from the viewing platform.

birdhouses for spring

I picked these up at a local thrift shop and plan to use them inside instead of outside. I love the color and shape, they are different than most I've seen for Spring.

speaking of tulips

The tulip fields in the Skagit Valley are amazing, I've never seen this many flowers in one place!
